PANAMA CITY FL- A North Bay Haven athletics coach has been suspended with pay after a student told his parents the coach was taking inappropriate pictures or video of him in the locker room.
Panama City Police are investigating claims that Duane Geradine, a paraprofessional P.E. Teacher at North Bay Haven, used his cell phone to take pictures or video of students in the boy's locker room.
In the police report it says when a student confronted Geradine about his cell phone, Geradine told the boy "he sent the videos to the person that needs to see it." The report also says this has been going on since at least September.
School officials are cooperating with Panama City Police and the department of children and families.
North Bay Haven Principal Meredith Higgins said, "We heard concern from a parent Friday morning and began to look into that complaint, and while we were looking into it the Police department arrived on campus to investigate a different complaint they got on the same issue. So at that point we turned the investigation over to them and are awaiting information back from them."
Geradine could not be reached for comment. He will remain on paid suspension until the investigation is over.
