Panama City Man Charged with DUI in Death of Pedestrian

Panama City Beach - A Panama City man is charged with driving under the influence after investigators say he hit and killed a pedestrian.

It happened just after 6PM Sunday. Bay County Sheriff's Deputies and the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene at Joan Avenue and Houston Street.

According to the FHP, 37-year-old James Gladney was walking in the northbound lane of Joan near the lane edge line when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by 27-year-old William Scott Rhodes of Panama City.

Rhodes was arrested on the scene and charged with driving under the influence. He was booked into the Bay County Jail.
