Panama City fire crews were called to a house fire Saturday evening.
Officials from the Panama City Fire Department say the two story home on Lincoln Drive near 13th Street had heavy smoke coming from the second story.
The fire itself had started in a downstairs bedroom.
Fire crews were able to stop most of the blaze from spreading, but they believe there is still thousands of dollars in damage.
The homeowners were not home at the time.
The Fire Marshall has been called out to investigate the cause, but at this time they believe it was caused by an electrical short.
