They have all the great games here, they have Jurassic Park, they have Flash Gordon, they have KISS. All the games I remember playing when I was young. I call this "Pinball Paradise," they call it "Pinball Alley South."
"I actually got started when I was twelve years old. I used to pump gas for a neighbor of mine and he had a pinball machine in his station. The first machine I ever had was a Humpty Dumpty," "Doc" Ross, pinball doctor, said.
Built in 1947, the Humpty Dumpty was the first pinball game with flippers.
"I loved it. I absolutely fell in love with it. We've got 34 and most of the time they're operating. My oldest game is the Gun Club and I know the fellow that was the designer on it. It's a 1941."
Doc and his wife Vivian work pretty hard to find all theses pinball machines.
"Looked in barns and in buildings and picked 'em up and restored 'em and we collected them!" Vivian said.
I had to know which game was Doc's favorite.
"It's hard to name a favorite, but I think probably The Jalopy. Fell in love with it when I was restoring it."
Pinball Alley South, the pinball doctor, I still have to call this Pinball Paradise because it brings back my youth.
The couple use their pinball game room for personal parties on an invitation only basis.
