Rainy Day Crashes Kill Two Area Motorists

The Florida Highway Patrol tells NewsChannel 7 Altanease O'Neal, 64, of Quincy died Sunday afternoon in a single car crash on State Road 69 south of Paront Road at Grande Ridge in Jackson County.

Troopers say O'Neal crossed the center line onto the shoulder of the highway and collided with a utility pole and a tree during a heavy rain storm.

About two hours later in Gadsden County, Troopers says a car/pick up crash on State Road 276 a half mile north of Quincy, killed a 9 year old girl. Makayla Woodard of Quincy was an unrestrained passenger in a car which crossed the center line into the path of a pick up truck.

The driver of the car Quineasia Williams was critically injured as well as a 1 year old passenger, also an restrained, Chloe Atkins of Quincy.

The driver of the pickup truck, 19 year old Katherine King was seriously injured.
King was the only person in the crash that was wearing a seat belt.
