Marianna- America's Second Harvest of the Big Bend teamed up with the First Presibeterian Church, The Family Dollar Store and the St. Andrews Society to distribute over 500 remote control toy cars and home grown satsuma oranges to local families in need.

Volunteers also dished out traditional holiday foods to help make sure everyone in the community could have something to eat and look forward to on Christmas day.

Stephanie Kilham, the Food Resource Manager for Second Harvest told us being able to participate in Wednesday's event was something very dear to her heart.

"We heard a lot of stories today where families had not been able to prepare in time for Christmas, that without the toy trucks they would not have gifts for the children" said Stephanie Kilham, the Food Resources Manager for Second Harvest.

Kilham said the group gave out over 1600 pounds of Jackson County grown satsuma oranges.
