Sea shell lovers from all over the country gathered at the Panama City Senior Center over the weekend to showcase some their most prized possessions.
The 16th Annual Shell Show, hosted by the Gulf Coast Shell Club, wrapped up Sunday.
Some collectors at the show had shells for sale and others were just showcasing some of their best finds.
Prizes were awarded in multiple different categories, including artistic and scientific.
Linda Bruner, President of the Gulf Coast Shell Club says, "We are a non-profit organization. We do it as a community service to educate people to let them see shells from all over the world."
Carol Mitchell has been collecting shells all her life. "I just love shells. I grew up on the Atlantic Sea Coast and I have collected shells there and all over the world and here!"
All the proceeds from the event will go towards the Shell Club's effort to provide scholarships and research for the community.
