Spring Breaker Suffers Injuries After Zipline Stunt

An apparent spring break stunt caused quite a scare early Saturday evening.

Authorities were called to the beach a little after 6:00pm in reference to a man who fell twenty-five to thirty feet off the zipline behind the Summit hotel on Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach.

The man initially refused medical attention and was on scene when we got there and told us he had actually jumped from the zipline platform.

Zipline employees confirmed this and said the incident actually occurred after the ride was closed.

The man apparently climbed the locked fence to gain access to the ride and told us he suffered minor head and back injuries.

"Apparent Spring Breaker" beacause the locals wanna have some fun too we are over worked/stressed and plus alot of the "locals" use to be tourist and more and more are moving here. REAL STORY: I dont get how this guy falls 20-30 feet and is pretty much good but the balcony jump the first incident of 2012 was from like 12-15 feet onto the sand and he is in ICU?

@GP - "Apparent spring breaker" means the person seemed to be a spring breaker. This implies that they were probably school or college age. (It probably also implies they weren't dressed as a police man, a firefighter, a doctor, nurse, etc.) "Spring Breaker" is someone who gets a week off school during the spring. "Apparently" means "seemed to be." Honestly, you should probably be able to figure the whole mystery out by yourself.

Skip- Maybe we should outlaw growing trees? Some idiot might climb the thing and fall out. I bet mother nature doesn't carry liability. No matter what you do, there will always be some idiot who does what normal people know you shouldn't do. If you build a brick wall someone will run into it. Maybe we should just hand cuff all the spring breakers to the beds in their rooms. No more balcony falls, no dui's no drownings, no PI charges, no shootings, no fights no underage drinking. Just think how nice it would be. Oh, and no business for anyone.

It means "an apparent under aged, Bay County condoned, spring tourist".

I was surprise to see they erected the zip in the first place, it was almost a guarantee someone would try something like this...or get injured because of it. Makes you wonder if a 'locked' gate isn't enough of a warning for someone to stay out.
