Strong onshore winds are ongoing ahead of a strong cold front. This is creating very high surf and dangerous rip currents along
the panhandle beaches.

Strong rip currents extend to the beaches of Franklin County as well. Surf today ranged from 3 to 4 feet With an occasional 5 foot breaker and is expected to increase to around 6 to 8 feet later tonight.

Strong onshore winds and higher than normal high tides could cause some minor beach erosion.
