Panama City Police arrested a Tallahassee man Saturday afternoon after he led them on a car chase.

Police say it began when Sherrick Howard allegedly hit a car on 23rd Street and Frankford Avenue then left the scene. The victim got Howard’s license plate number and called it in to police.

An officer on 23rd Street saw Howard’s car and tried to stop him but Howard refused to stop. The chase continued down 23rd Street and then south on Highway 77 and onto U.S. 231.

At the intersection of U.S. 231 and 15th Street, Howard ran into a car stopped in traffic and police were able to arrest him. No one was hurt.

Howard was driving with a suspended license and will face additional charges for leaving the scene of an accident and felony fleeing and eluding. The passenger in Howard’s car was not charged.
