It's time to pull out your favorite mask and beads because it's officially Mardi Gras time! The first Mardi Gras celebration in Bay County kicked off Friday night with the Krewe of Massalina in downtown Panama City with a block party.

The festivities continued Saturday with a huge parade through the streets of downtown. This year's theme celebrating native tribes.

The spirit of New Orleans was in the air down on the Destin Harbor too. The 4th annual Mardi Gras parade at the HarborWalk Village down at the Emerald Grande took place Saturday afternoon.

Over 60 floats rolled through the Village from A.J.'s Seafood and Oyster Bar to the west end of the Harbor. Proceeds are benefiting the Destin Harvest House-- a christian, non-profit organization that provides food and clothing for those in need.
