Three Calhoun County Men Arrested During Meth Bust

Two men and one woman are behind bars for outstanding felony warrants, both men are also known meth cooks.

On Tuesday, around 8:00pm, Calhoun County Deputies received information on the whereabouts of James Johnson. Johnson was a known meth cook who had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear on felony drug charges. Johnson is a convicted felon.

Calhoun County conducted surveillance on the house located on Calvin Martin Road while a take down team got in place.

A white male identified as Austin Scott opened the door to the residence. Scott also had active felony charges.

Johnson and Scott were taken into custody without incident.

Johnson was found in the bed, laying on top of two loaded hand guns and had both a plastic and glass meth pipe in his pocket.

Investigators say there was a haze in the air and a strong chemical odor. Officials say there were shake and bake items in the home used to manufacture meth and tracked the purchase of the active ingredients to Teresa Savanna Bailey.

The trio were booked into the Calhoun County jail.

Scott charges are grand theft over 5,00 dollars, conspiracy to commit grand theft, manufacture of meth, possession of listed chemicals and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Johnson charges are possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, manufacture of meth, possession of listed chemicals, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bailey was charged with principal in the first degree to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of listed chemicals.
