Panama City Beach - The summer tourist season is just about here, but Bay County Tourist Development Council members are already thinking about how to bring them back to our area during the fall months. Tourism leaders have dedicated several resources to producing commercials they hope will help in that mission.

During the summer season, the worlds; most beautiful beaches turn into a playground for the thousands of families who spend their summer vacation time in our area. Local tourism leaders are hoping the fall will become play-time for adults and couples.

24 local actors were selected last month to appear in commercials that target adults and couples traveling without children. Two different versions of the commercials were shot. TDC officials hope summer visitors will see it during their stay here and will plan to come back in the fall.

"We can try to attract visitors who are actually here and, so when they see the spot with a different voice over in a out market there will be the brand recognition when they see it at home," said Susan Estler.

The second commercial will only air in markets out of town and on the internet. It's geared towards an adult crowd.

"We are going to be using these in our out market and popular markets in our drive market as well as Baltimore, Nashville, Atlanta, and Birmingham," said Estler.

Tourism officials say they are currently planning their fall concert line up, but so far only one concert has been confirmed and announced. The star of Nickelodeons hit show iCarly..Miranda Cosgrove.

"News will be coming out on a fairly regular basis as we get all of the plans finalized solidified and its going to be a fun time on Panama City Beach this fall," said Dan Rowe.

Miranda Cosgrove is scheduled to perform October 9th, the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend at Aaron Bessant Park.

Legalize full casino gambling in this state like over 80% of the people want and you would have FULL hotels, condo's year round along with full restaurants, stores. Unemployment, would be near zero and jobs WITH health care and benefits would sprout up everywhere. Tourisim is not just Disney and the Beach. We could attract WORLDWIDE travelers, year round. Contact your legislators to make it happen. We are losing daily needed revenue and bed taxes along with visitor sales tax. 24 other states have seen the light including Missouri. Unemployment in these areas of the states with casinos is lower than state averages.
