Two Traffic Deaths Reported Friday in Okaloosa County

Two traffic deaths were reported Friday in Okaloosa County.

An 86 year old Ft. Walton Beach woman, Lois Corbin, was killed in a golf cart accident at Shalimar Country Club.

The Florida Highway Patrol says Mrs. Corbin was driving her golf cart on the first hole of the gold course and was attempting to drive around a roped off area.

She drove too close to the edge of a sand trap. The golf cart overturned into the sand and she was ejected with the roof landing on top of her.

She was taken to Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

In a separate accident in Okaloosa County, 79 year old Barbara Anne Theisen of Niceville died today from injuries she received in a traffic crash back on October 8th.

Theisen was a passenger in a car driven by her husband on Marwalt Drive at Hospital Drive. The car failed to negotiate a right turn, ran onto the shoulder onto the property of Wilson Medical Center. The vehicle crashed through a metal fence and struck a large tree.

She had been listed in critical condition until her death Friday.
