Florida Democratic Senator Bill Nelson was on the campaign trail Saturday, making a stop at the Bay County Democratic Women’s Club headquarters.
Nelson spoke with a crown of about 100, addressing some of the issues he feels will be the hot topics in the upcoming election.
He touched on his voting record, discussed a number of bills he’s help pass since being in office, opening showing his support for the RESTORE Act and the Affordable Health Care legislation.
Sen. Nelson told the local audience he’s most worried the middle class will be harmed by the plans presented by his opponent Connie Mack, IV, as well as the Romney/Ryan ticket.
“The genius of America is a strong and vibrant middle class. And what we are seeing is policies by the opponents driving a wedge and creating the “Haves” and the “Have Not”. That is not what is good for America. You have to constantly expand the middle class.”
