Utilities General Manager Arrested on Embezzelment Related Charges

Covington County -- The Alabama Bureau of Investigation, a division of the Alabama Department of Public Safety, Thursday arrested Florala Utilities General Manager Lynn D. Hughes.

Hughes was arrested by the state agents on two warrants for two charges of Theft of Property 1st and two charges of Use of Office for Personal Gain.

Hughes was booked into the Covington County jail under a $120,000 bond.

No further information is available at this time as ABI continues to investigate allegations of misappropriated Florala utilities accounts where Hughes was employed in Florala..
