The local nonprofit, ZooWorld of Panama City Beach, received a big hand from volunteers on Saturday.
Nearly one hundred volunteers from the Lynn Haven Ward of the Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints went to ZooWorld in the early morning.
The volunteers were power washing buildings, laying sod into exhibits, replacing ropes with wooden fencing, and raking leaves.
The helpers did similar work last year.
ZooWorld officials say the act was a heartwarming gesture that indirectly affects the animals and that the more aesthetically pleasing the zoo is for guests, the more visitation time the animals will get and in return will allow the zoo to do for the animals.
