A Walton County High School Student was suspended last night following a day long investigation to information coming from the school that a student was threatening to stage a a multiple shooting incident.
Walton County Deputies and School officials worked into the night and were able track down the student who told officers it was an attempt to be funny and scare friends and denied any plan for a mass shooting episode.
The student involved in the hoax is not being identified publicly by deputies or school officials.
The student has been expelled from school as a result. Sheriff Mike Adkinson says Walton High School remains open for a normal school day.
