For almost four years Geoff McBride has been helping the Walton and Okaloosa counties Children's Advocacy Center any way he can.
The past contestant on NBC’s "The Voice" has decided to put his vocal talents to use helping children.
He's using the song "Wipe Away a Tear" off of his latest album to serve as the theme for his new campaign.
"What I would love to do is help raise funds to help those children and give them the necessary the tools to wipe away a tear,” said McBride.
McBride is kicking off the campaign in Walton County and spreading it to all of the state's 26 Children’s Advocacy Centers.
From there McBride hopes to go nationwide.
"If you look at the website it will tell you the history of the CAC, and the organization, it will tell you how to donate and tell you some of the different things children deal with,” said McBride. “And above all it will make you aware of how big child abuse really is."
CEO Julie Hurst says McBride's timing couldn't be better.
The CAC just acquired land to build a second advocacy center in DeFuniak Springs.
"And to have people like Geoff and to bring awareness,” said Hurst. “And awareness brings donations and awareness to our child abuse hotline."
