Woman on Riding Lawmower Killed When Hit by Pick Up Truck

A woman on a riding lawnmower was killed Thursday afternoon when she drove into the path of a pick up truck in Walton County.

The mishap happened at Richard Road and Heartland Acres Road at 2 PM when Eleanor J. Bryant, 68, stopped her riding lawn mower at her mail box to check mail.

She then made a U-Turn on Richardson Road and pulled into the path of a pick up truck and was struck.

She was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital where she died a few hours later.

The truck driver, 67 year old Zackery Brunson of DeFuniak Springs was not injured.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating and says no charges have been filed.
