GCCC students to receive free trolley passes

Bay County - Students attending Gulf Coast Community College can pick up a pass to ride the Bay Town Trolley for free for the semester.

GCCC has partnered with BTT to offer complimentary passes during the fall 2010 school semester. Students who would like to take advantage of the offer will have to be able to present valid GCCC student identification cards. With those validated, students can pick up their passes in the breezeway between the East and West Student Union Centers on Wednesday.

A transit team will be onsite between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to facilitate the process for the students who are interested.

A representative from the Bay Town Trolley says this program is being conducted as a trial run, to evaluate student usage and identify the need for a more formalized student ridership program on campus.

Throughout the fall 2010 semester, GCCC will cover all student fares and trip costs.
