Fighter jets to weather storm at Eglin AFB

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE -- Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina is moving 30 F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets and three KC-135R Stratotankers refueling aircraft to the Florida Panhandle as Hurricane Earl approaches.

The Air Force is moving the planes south and out of the path of the major hurricane. Officials at Florida's Eglin Air Force Base said the planes should begin arriving around 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
