Road Project to Close Intersection of U.S. 231 & Transmitter Road

A pavement replacement project on U.S. 231 will temporarily close Transmitter Road at its intersection with U.S. 231 over two nights next week.

The project will preclude Transmitter Road traffic from crossing the intersection during a two-night period between 10 a.m. and 6 a.m. tentatively scheduled to start Thursday, Feb. 11. Only one lane of U.S. 231 will be closed at any given time and the southbound and northbound lanes will be under construction on separate evenings. The intersection will be open during the day.

A detour plan will be in place during the intersection’s closure. When road work is on the U.S. 231 northbound lanes, traffic will be detoured to Baldwin Road, then U.S. 231. When road work is on U.S. 231 southbound lanes, traffic headed southbound on Transmitter Road will be advised to use County Road 389 or Cato Road. Access on Transmitter Road will be permitted for local traffic.
