Dothan's Country Crossing Casino Delays Reopening

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) -- Country Crossing in Dothan has delayed its reopening while the courts sort out whether the Alabama's attorney general can take over the Governor's Task Force on Illegal Gambling.

Attorney General Troy King announced Monday he was taking over the task force. Country Crossing quickly made plans to reopen its electronic bingo casino and other attractions on Wednesday. But then the governor announced Tuesday that he will fight the attorney general's plans in court.

Country Crossing spokesman Jay Walker says the reopening is being delayed temporarily. Country Crossing closed in late January to prevent a raid by the governor's task force.

Trying to keep people from gambling is like tryiing to keep them from breathing! People are going to gamble, why not in your state/county? You're letting other states benifit from it,.

Do your legislators have there heads between their legs? Get with the times. If you don't allow the casino, then other states will.

Those of you that are against this casino, have your heads between your legs. Casinos are here to stay, and if you don't allow them in your state, other states will. Wake up and smell the coffee.
