Drivers who use 11tth Street for their daily commute will run into a little bit of trouble, beginning Monday, as the first phase of a paving project begins.

The Bay County project will ultimately repave about a mile of 11tth Street, between Tyndall Parkway and Transmitter Road. Starting Monday, 11th Street will be closed from U.S. 98 to Bob Little Road and traffic will be detoured to 7th Street, though residences and businesses along 11th Street will still be accessible.

As the project continues toward Transmitter Road, the roadway will be closed in sections for 55 to 60 days at a time. It is expected to take about 195 days for the overall section from U.S. 98 to Transmitter Road to be repaved.

This project is the first in an overall effort to repave 11th Street from Beck Avenue to U.S. 98.
