Stepped up traffic enforcement in Panama City

Before you step on the gas, be forewarned. The Panama City Police Department is stepping up enforcement in the coming week.

Monday, April 26, police will focus on speed enforcement in the area of West Highway 98, the Hathaway Bridge, and the 2400 block of Highway 231.

Tuesday, April 27, they’ll focus on motorists who stop in, or block intersections at Jenks Avenue and 15th Street, and the corner of Harrison Avenue and Highway 231.

Wednesday, April 28, be sure to use caution when driving in the 300 block of Cherry Street and the 1300 block of Florida Avenue – police will be cracking down on speeders there.

Thursday, April 29, officers will focus on those who run stop signs at the intersection of West 10th Street and Beck Avenue. They’ll also be keeping an extra eye or two on the intersection of Harrison Avenue and 5th Street.

Finally, on Friday, April 30, speeders beware, especially along the 700 block of East Business Highway 98 and the 1200 block of East 15th Street.

And at all times, make sure to buckle up – that goes for your passengers, too!
