BCSO Working to Fight Cancer

While the Bay County Sheriff’s Office works hard to fight crime, they are also working hard to fight cancer.

Ruth Corley and Deputy Tim Bowen joined Meredith Monday morning with information on two Relay for Life events they are hosting this week. One is Thursday, the other is Saturday.

Thursday, April 11 from 6:00 am to 9:00 am it's Drive and Donate. They will have WPAP morning show there LIVE! BCSO are asking folks to drive through the parking lot and under the covered porch where there will have a huge barrel for them to drop their donations to the American Cancer Society then they will give you breakfast food, a biscuit or doughnuts. We are currently working on the donations of food. We have commitments from Chick-Fil-A and Hardees.

Then on Saturday, April 13 from 10:00 am to 2:00pm, they will have the BCSO Cancer Drive at the driving range at the North Bay Learning Center of Gulf Coast State College on C.R. 2300 otherwise known as the Steam Plant Road. For a ten dollar donation, they will have the person drive with a deputy through the course to experience our Skid car. This is a preview of the Teen Driving Challenge which will kick off in June of 2013. All participants must have a valid driver's license or learner's permit. Under age drivers must be with their parent or guardian!
