Tuesday investigators will try to find out why a registered sex offender died the same day he was released from jail.

A probation officer found Ronald R. Melton, 55, body in the woods off Tram Road Monday afternoon.
Melton, who was from Bay County, had just been released from the Washington County correctional institution earlier Monday morning. Melton was fitted with an electronic tracking device on his ankle.
A probation officer checked in on him and found him dead the medical examiners office is conducting an autopsy.
