State legislators are trying to encourage college students to finish their undergraduate degrees faster before the end of the year.

One of the changes would allow students who finish their degrees early to use their left over bright futures scholarships to pay for grad school. The plan would free up enrollment space for more students and keep the best and brightest in the state.
The higher educating coordinating council plans to give the proposal to lawmakers in time for the beginning of the legislative session in January.
