The city of Callaway is looking into financial options as they consider purchasing Sandy Creek utilities.
City Commissioners approved a motion Tuesday to advertise a request for proposals to collect bids on financing the project. Commissioners want to look at available interest rates and options. The Bay County Commission has pledged 175,000 dollars to help the city purchase the Sandy Creek Water System, but Callaway still has to find another $750,000 dollars if they decide to move forward.
Last night’s decision does not mean the city is obligated to purchases the utility system if they don’t like what they see when the request for proposals comes back.
