Community Clean Up Event at St. Andrews State Park

PANAMA CITY, FL-- Northwest Florida is known for our incredible beaches where visitors and residents alike come to enjoy the crystal blue water and sugary white sand. Keeping our beaches clean, and preserving them, is a responsibility we all share.

Tracy Howard joined us Thursday morning telling us about a special weekend long community clean up and education event that will happen at St. Andrews State Park July 11-July 13.

Leave No Trace recently designated Florida's St. Andrews State Park as one of the nation's eight 'hot spots' in the U.S. this year as part of the nonprofit organization's campaign to address and help public lands that are facing the threat of irreversible environmental damage.

The weekend long event conducted by the Subaru/Leave No Trace traveling trainers will help communities raise awareness and take action using Leave No Trace principles.

The Subaru/Leave No Trace traveling trainers travel aorund the country providing public education about how to reduce impacts in the outdoors. They will work with key St. Andrews park staff, volunteers, and the general public to implement Leave No Trace programs at St. Andrews State Park.
