A change in leadership is now on hold in DeFuniak Springs.
Council members agreed Monday to wait at least two more weeks before hiring a new city manager.
“One, we will need to go back out for the month of November advertising and then rank whoever or we go back to the original three we go back to the original three we had on the first round” said Mac Work, Council Member.
One of those applicants is the city’s finance director, Sarah Bowers. It was suggested they give Bowers the opportunity to try the job, just as applicant and current interim city manager Kelly Shultz was given.
Council members voted unanimously for Bowers to begin as interim city manager next Monday.
