Domestic crimes are on the rise in Bay County.
Officials with the Salvation Army Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Program say there has been a dramatic increase in cases this year. That is evident in the number of people staying at their safe house, which is a shelter for victims. The number of people filing for restraining orders has also increased.
In 2010, judges issued 548 restraining orders in Bay County. The current number for this year is up to 704.
