CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty is bringing his newly-minted campaign for the Republican presidential nomination to South Florida.

Pawlenty plans a Facebook town hall meeting Tuesday followed by a session with reporters. Both events are at the swank Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables.

Pawlenty is billing himself as the GOP candidate who will be blunt with voters about solutions to major issues. Pawlenty won praise Tuesday from former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush on Twitter after a speech in Iowa corn country advocating a phaseout of the crop's ethanol subsidy.

Bush's tweet said he admired truth-telling and that Pawlenty had done that.

The South Florida visit comes after Pawlenty appeared Monday night before about 50 Republicans in Tampa.
