SANFORD, Fla. -- An central Florida dealership trying to drum up business is offering an unusual perk for potential used-truck buyers: A free AK-47 assault rifle.

ATF officer Carlos Baixauli holds an AK-47 in Miami. The AK-47, long a popular weapon in third-world conflicts, is fast becoming the gun-of-choice for American street fights.

SANFORD, Fla. -- An central Florida dealership trying to drum up business is offering an unusual perk for potential used-truck buyers: A free AK-47 assault rifle.

General sales manager Nick Ginetta says that since the promotion was announced on Veterans Day, business has more than doubled at Nations Trucks in Sanford.

Customers would have to pass a background check before using the $400 gun shop voucher. They also have the option of using the money toward other firearms, or they can request a check in that amount instead.

The dealership has fielded some complaints about the deal, which Ginetta acknowledges is controversial. But, he adds: "My buyer is absolutely a gun owner, no question."

The promotion runs through the end of November.

Makes sense to me, criminals have already been using guns to get free vehicles, now law abiding citizens can get a free guns with their vehicle!

The picture posted here with the story is very provocative. I suspect the author does not believe in second ammendment rights.

Anonymous, You're off a bit. Guns don't kill people, husbands who come home early do....

I doubt they are giving away AK's. True AK's are relatively rare, it's probably an SKS. Pinky, just because a weapon looks like an assault rifle they may not be, Assault rifles are semi and fully automatic which requires a special permit. This attitude about the looks of a gun are a myth of the left wing media.

Pinky. You do realise that criminals don't attack gun ownwers, right? They only go after the sheep who are easy victims. Thses Pistol Free Zone restrictions for CCW holders really are nothing but CRIMINAL EMPOWERMENT ZONES since everyone there is disarmed and unable to protect themselves. Just thought I'd take a moment to educate you. I just wish I had waited another month before buying a vehicle locally. I would have been down to this guy's dealership in a heart beat if this was offered a month ago. We have a Second Amendment in our Constituion. We have the right to bear arms as citizens of this nation. Its also your right not to. So don't. But keep your liberal hatred for guns on your property. Put a sign out that says "I'm against guns" and see how long it is before you lose your stuff. Exercise your rights, but in the process...LEAVE MINE ALONE so I can exercise mine.

The promotion runs through the end of November. Shouldn’t you hurry up and get your AK rifle soon? Assuming you haven't already taken advantage of this great offer.
