Panama City -- Northwest Florida Blood Services is holding a Met Life Blood Drive on Thursday, and offering each blood donor a $15 gas card and a special T-shirt in honor of Military Appreciation Month.

With gas prices soaring, sponsors of the drive hope that free gas will entice more donors to “Give the Gift of Life.” Thursday’s blood drive will be held at the Met Life building at 11 W. 23rd Street in Panama City (near the intersection of 23rrd Street and Harrison Avenue).

All blood types are welcome and needed, especially O Negative donors. You are eligible to donate if you are at least 16-years-old with parental consent, weigh 110 pounds, are in good health and have a picture ID. There is no upper age limit.

Each donor receives a wellness check, a free cholesterol screening and will learn their blood type.

Check the Northwest Florida Blood Services website at www.nfbcblood.org for more information, or call 747-6570.
