Jackson County speaker has tips for $35 power bills

Marianna -- A group including West Florida Electric, the Jackson County Building Deptment, and the Tri-County Home Builders Association are sponsoring an "Effective Energy Efficiency Seminar," which promises efficiency tips to lower your power bills.

Doug Rye, an efficiency expert who hosts a weekly radio show called “Home Remedies,” will lead the seminar, which is scheduled for Wednesday, April 20 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Jackson County Agricultural Conference Center, at 2741 Pennsylvania Avenue in Marianna.

Rye’s "Home Remedies" radio show provides practical insight into home construction ideas and energy efficiency measures. He is known nationwide for his honest, down-to-earth style, and his common sense principles of energy-efficient homes.

Rye promises to demonstrate ways to reduce home heating, cooling and water heating costs, and cut heating and cooling bills to as low as $35 per month.

This conference is available to the public at no charge.

    Hmmmm I pay a customer charge of $35, so there is no way a power bill could ever by that low.
