BCSO Release Sketch of Man Floating in Gulf

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office has released an artist’s drawing of the face of the body found approximately five miles off shore on September 16, 2011.

Investigators are still trying to identify a man who’s body was found floating in the Gulf Friday.

Divers from a local dive shop discovered the body around noon Friday, about five miles south of Panama City Beach.

The Coast Guard recovered the body and brought it to the St. Andrews Marina.

Investigators believe the man is about 35 to 40 years old, 6 foot 1, 145 pounds, with dark short wavy hair. He has what’s described as distinctive scars on his face, but no tattoos. There were no signs of trauma.

They say the man had been in the water for two days.

Anyone with any information as to the identity of this man is asked to call the Bay County Sheriff’s Office at 747-4700. Those wishing to remain anonymous are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 785-TIPS.

Pass the sketch around at the Rescue Mission. One of the best places to turn up leads on such things.
