More Locals Help Red Cross With Irene Relief

Three more volunteers from the local Red Cross chapter left for the East Coast to help with Hurricane Irene relief.

This new crew is split between Connecticut and New Jersey today. Since last Friday, Red Cross has given shelter to 52,000 people set up 9 kitchens that serve 100,000 meals a day. They have made more than a million meals available in North Carolina, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia and New York.

This was all done thanks to the more than 4,000 Red Cross volunteers.
