ROSAT flyover schedule for Panama City, FL

ROSAT flyover schedule for Panama City, FL

The ROSAT satellite is expected to impact Earth over the weekend, with it's final landing spot still unknown. However, as it streaks to it's death, it will be visible overhead...both tonight and tomorrow night. Just head out away from city lights and look to the northwest sky. It will look like a star or plane moving across the sky, just without the blinking lights.

Later on tonight, after midnight, in the east-southeast sky, the Orionids Meteor Shower takes place. It is not going to be a whopper of a show, but you could still see 15-20 meteors per hour. The meteors are part of the debris left over from Haley's Comet. They will appear to originate from the constellation cluster known as "Orion". Same rules apply as with the ROSAT: head away from city lights where it is dark and quiet!

Enjoy star-gazing this weekend.
