Bay County has a lot of fabulous cooks; many of them are part of the Panama City Garden Club. The club is releasing their very own cookbook and hosting a tasting party to celebrate. Jodi Moore and Carol Garrison joined Meredith in studio to whip up one of their most popular recipes, Whiskey Balls, and tell us about the party that you can attend.
The tasting party is Saturday from 9:00 until 1:00 at the Panama City Garden Club. The public is invited to sample recipes for free. Crafts, baked goods and of course the cookbook will be on sale. The cookbook is $12.85. For more information, you can call 867-6575.
2 1/2 cup vanilla wafers (1 large pkg.)
1/2 cup rum, add last
3 Tablespoons whiskey, add last
1 cup pecans, ground or chopped fine
1 cup powdered sugar
2 Tablespoons cocoa
3 Tablespoons Karo syrup
Roll wafers into crumbs. Add dry ingredients, except powdered sugar, and mix. Add rum and whiskey and drip in Karo. Mix and roll into balls, then roll in powdered sugar. Store carefully in a cookie tin.
