Panama City Beach bed tax numbers continue to point to a strong recovery for the local tourism industry.
Number released Wednesday show bed tax collections for the month of August were $1,086,000. That is a 34.5% increase over August of last year.
Dan Rowe, head of the TDC says year to date bed tax receipts are up 20.2% over last year.
Bed tax numbers are traditionally a good barometer of how tourism is doing in a community.
