Parasailing Safety with U.S. Coast Guard and UPV Inspector

PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL-- U.S. Coast Guard Mike Clausen and UPV Inspector Bill Roland sat down with us and discussed parasailing and safety.

July 1 marked the one year anniversay of the parasailing accident that left two Indiana teenagers critically injured when a towline snapped. Since that day, both girls have been in recovery.

The U.S. Senate passed a bill this year that required wind speed limits and insurance on all parasailing vessels. How can you be sure the vessel you're on meets requirements? That's where the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary comes in. They are offering volunteer inspections this summer for uninspected passenger vehicles.
