This morning's rain didn't stop marathons runners from participating in today's Run for the Redfish.
The marathons began at 8 a.m. at Pier Park. Registered runners could participate in a half marathon or a 5K.
There was even a Kids Fun Run so the young ones could to participate as well.
Runner Karena Hand said, "My little brother was running in it with me and he’s a really good sport."
“It's the first time we signed up for an organized race. And it was a good one to do,” said runner Bob Rieho.
This is the 5th year the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce has put together the Run for Redfish.
Organizers say about 900 people registered to run this year which is up almost 200 compared to last year's participants. The Chamber of Commerce plans to continue the Run for Redfish next year.
