Public Workshop On Aaron Bessant Park

An Amphitheater is causing some commotion as Panama City Beach looks at ways to renovate Aaron Bessant Park.

The proposed plans call for building a large stage for Pier Park concerns and events which are largely funded with BP Funds.
Some residents voiced their concerns, others their support for the plans during a public workshop last night. Some suggested black-out dates during Spring Break and other peak tourist weekends, when nearby Pier Park is already crowded. Others want to change the position of the Amphitheater to reduce noise in the neighborhoods.

City staff will take the public comments and come up with design and operational parameters to be presented at another workshop next month.
