If you are a smoker, making the decision to quit is a very difficult thing but you don’t have to do it alone. There are free Smoking Cessation Classes being offered locally to help win the battle. James Lewis is one of the class facilitators. He joined Meredith in studio with the top five tips to make your attempt to quit successful.
1. Come to a Cessation Group
2. Set a Quit Date
3. Wean off nicotine (by cutting down prior to quit date and use of NRT after quit date)
4. Have a plan for triggers/stress
5. Don't give up
The next class being offered is Monday, January 28th for 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Bay County Health Department Auditorium. For more information, you can call 850-482-6500.
