Rescue Mission Director Speaks on Frequent EMS Visits

Earlier this week we told you about the number of emergency medical calls Bay Medical makes involving the Panama City Rescue Mission.

Hospital officials say they are on track to answer 500 calls by the end of the year, at a total cost of around $400,000 dollars. The hospital will write-off most of that cost. Wednesday Rescue Mission Director, Reverend Billy Fox admitted ambulances come to the mission two to three times a day, but claims at least 50% of the homeless clients are suffering physical or mental illnesses.

Fox says it is his goal to eventually raise enough money to hire a staff doctor or nurse.
