More than 49 million homes are considered food insecure in the United States. The National Association of Letter Carriers is working to make a difference but holding their 22nd annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive taking place Saturday.
Mail carriers will be dropping off bags in mailboxes for residents to fill. Residents are asked to fill bags with nonperishable food items such as peanut butter, beans, rice, canned food items, and cereal.
All food collected will go to local charities. Residents are asked to fill bags and place them inside mailboxes or hang them from the sides.
