I can say that I never got a lousy gift. I am thankful for what I have gotten. Please remember it is the thought that counts, and some people are limited on how much they can give. I am fortunate to have my home and family since there are so many out there that have nothing.

Well if it is the thought that counts, some people can't think then. My boyfriend said one year he got a box that was decorated and inside of that box was a decorated box when he finally got down to the last box to open, it had a empty beer bottle in it and in the bottle was a note that said, it's the thought that counts. Merry Christmas !! He was at a Christmas party, everybody thought it was funny but he got mad and left. This is before we met. I'm sure this hurt his feelings.

The lousiest Christmas gift I ever got was the ungrateful attitude from a recipient of a gift I had given for Christmas.

a re-gift. one year my godmother gave both me and a friend the same thing, hideous handmade salt and pepper shakers in the shape of a nose - and tongue. hideous. in lime green. i couldnt decide what to do with it - hid it in closet. the next christmas, the other person who got the hideous set gave it to me as a present! of course, my godmother recognized it. her friend is a cheapskate. i found a person who collected salt and pepper sets. gave both to them.

I think commercializing the holiday by making it about the gifts is wrong. Honor the holiday for why it is a holiday, the birth of Christ. If that offends someone then I would have to ask why they are celebrating a religious holiday for a religion they don't follow. So really, do the gifts matter that much?

I have one now in the closet that I recieved last year, that I'm going to return to my mother in law. Want she be surprised ? Hope she wont recogize it. It has never been opened. Hahahahaha
