Janet Watermeier will be out in four to six months.

Wednesday, the EDA’s executive committee met to discuss executive director Janet Watermeier’s future with the organization. Watermeier took recent funding issues in Callaway and Panama City as a personal attack. Both groups said they did not feel like their cities were getting anything for their money, and they cut how much they spend for the EDA, that prompted Watermeier to resign, saying she expected a media backlash, but the negative news coverage never came.

A week later, Watermeier sent another e-mail saying she now wants to stay on the job.

The EDA decided Wednesday Watermeier will be out of the local economic development alliance in four to six months.
